This Too Shall Pass!!!!!

Snowy Path - it was a real good workout on my legs - looking on the brighter side of things here.
Same path (last week) but with less snow.

As I walked through the snowy path just now, I'm thankful that when it snows it's not as cold ( I was actually building a sweat). This too shall pass - I hope sooner than later though but it's not my call. I can call it but I cannot make it happen duh!!!
Guess what this is - I'm not up to driving today.

How high are you gonna get Mr. Snow Bank???

It has been a long one it seems - but this too shall pass yeah man eventually.

Shopping for Accessories

"I love those earrings, but they may not go with the my shirt, if only I had it with me ".
So you're out shopping for the right necklace to compliment a top you purchased recently. Or better yet - you want to make your own accessories. You head out to the store and explain to the sales representative the purpose of your visit, then comes the question " Do you have the top you want to purchase the necklace for?" or "Can I please see the top so I can better assist you with finding the right beads?"

But you cannot do either because you left the top in your closet at home. Jeez and you go on and on as thought you're expecting her to work a miracle. No item  means no proper match. So in the future please take it with you for your convenience and to obtain the best possible service. Even if you have a picture of the item that may not be the best option because sometimes the picture does not do justice to the true colour of the item. So it will not hurt to take it with you.

" Yeah I think that cuff will be ideal for my top, but I want to be sure, hmmmmmmmm I left the top at home".

Finally!!!

I recently bought Jean Power's Geometeric Star pattern http://www.jeanpower.com/ after seeing the different colour combinations of it being worn by two of my colleagues at work. Ms. Power even taught several classes at Beadfx last June http://beadfx.blogspot.ca/2013/02/jean-power-coming-to-beadfx.html and even though I did not take any of her classes my journey to geometeric beadweaving has begun ...

My tiny collection of 11/0 Delicas

I bought more Delicas because I wanted to make Jean Power's Geometeric Star to compliment a sweater I bought recently.

I'm almost finished, but the next time I do this I'm gonna increase my tension.

It was after 3AM. and sleep failed to return and I wanted to finish this star. I had to finish this star. Deadline? Who said anything about a deadline? I finally got out of bed at about 5AM. and did not stop till it was finished.

Finally - yes finally. My first star is finished. This reminds me of the beach - the sand!!! It's winter here and it's almost summer there and the softness of this star brings me some serenity.
Now that I'm sucked into this "vortex of beadweaving" I'm gonna make another. And yes I bought more Delicas Yeah ! Yeah!!!

Remake

This was my first leather wrap bracelet and I felt like remaking it. It was not like I didn't have anything else to do, but I felt the need to do a better job of it. So last week I put things together

 and now the rest is.....

Pearl Knotting

I'm knotting pearls these days - working on some new classes. One of them is a knotted stone chip necklace (yeah I know a chip is not a pearl). In this class I’ll teach you how to knot stone chips using the traditional pearl knotting technique. I’ll demonstrate using Fine Tip Tweezers, an Awl and pearl knotting pliers. I’ll also demonstrate how to ream pearls using two types of bead reamers. You’ll also learn how to wrap loops – one of the fundamentals in wire work. At the end of it all you can wear your necklace on your way home.

For more information go to http://beadfx.com/classes/class_show.php?class_id=169 and book your spot on October 27/13 from 11:30am to 2:30pm.

Patience

I wanted to take one of Anne Mitchell's (www.annemitchell.net ) classes since last year and I knew she was gonna be back at Beadfx again so I waited. From the moment I saw the listings at the store, it was my desire to take the PMC and Fine Silver Fusing Class http://beadfx.com/classes/class_show.php?class_id=89. Thank you Kelly for taking my shift and Beadfx Inc for inviting Anne back to teach because I had the most amazing experience.

Preparing to torch - since this experience, I'm more comfortable with my torch.

Anne at work.

Anne demonstrating fusing the rings on the chain.

Back of the necklace

Let the hammering of the rings begin.

Look at the lovely texture on the PMC clay

My necklace - haven't worn it yet but soon.

I made myself some stacked rings - these I wear all the time.

I'm loving these rings.
