Joshua chose the green butterfly at the Toronto Bead Society's Bag of Bead Challenge distribution meeting. Joshua modified one of my flowers from an arrangement. Oh yeah out of his modifications I create many pieces.
So with some of last year's paper from the bead challenge, I remodified Joshua's modification. In reflection, I'm happy he chose the green flower ( he knows his mother's favourite colour) because even though it still felt like winter outside ( at that time) - in my heart it was spring time.

Victory
He poured out His soul unto death, and He was numbered with the transgressors, and He bore the sin of many. —Isaiah 53:12
Is God aloof from human pain
That ravages our mortal frame?
Oh, no, Christ felt our agony
When sin and death He overcame! —D. De Haan
Christ’s empty tomb guarantees our victory over sin and death.

Lady Gaga
It was February and I was freezing and I had a double dose of island fever since I'm from a twin island. If my mother-in-law were alive she would say " Carnival in de air." Oh yes my mind was in Trinidad - it's a pity I wasn't feeling the Trinbago heat too.
Lady Gaga was still on my mind so yuh know what - it's Lady Went To Trinidad For Carnival. Yuh think she still there??? This is my main Bag of Bead Challenge piece - I'll post the rest soon.

Over 50 Wrapped Loops!!!
The Toronto Bead Society's (TBS) Bag of Beads was given out in January for the challenge. I sat one night and made over 50 wrapped loops on headpins using the bugles and seed beads in the stash plus some of my own. Over 50 wrapped loops and I wasn't sure what I was making.
I made a "thing" that reminded me of Lady Gaga but it did not feel right. Do not get me wrong I do not have anything against her. I think that Gaga mood came about since my three year old son asked me about her one night and I pulled up some pictures of her on Google.
Over 50 wrapped loops, coiling,Viking Knit and wire wrapping - yeah I'm still playing with wire and the completion of one TBS piece.

A Woman's History
This lady hit the nail on the head and I loved it because I felt the same way. She mentioned that " A woman's history is in her jewelry" and I smiled when I heard it. I told her that my oldest piece of jewelry is a gold crucifix from my christening (when I was an infant). A crucifix I passed on to my son at his christening.
Each piece tells a story of my history - a story of my mood, a feeling of nostalgia perhaps and each technique tells of another stage in my creative development. So yes lady you hit the nail on the head - our (guys included) history is in our jewelry.

Dog Yampee
Well yes I never put dog yampee in my eyes and like I seeing spirits!!! Legend has it ( ha high I like the sound of that) in Trinidad and Tobago that if you take the mucus(yampee) from a dog's eyes and put it into yours you'll see spirits. Yes ghosts!!! Well I never did that before in my life ! Never say never !!! Well I had not done that before and I keep seeing images of people crossing the road when they are not supposed to.
The other night there were three spirits on the road. I can't remember ever seeing yampee in a Canadian dog's eyes. Well maybe it's because I have not gotten close enough to a dog to look him or her in the eyes (that's another story yes). As I was typing, two were running across the road to get of the bus and they even stopped in front of the car when I drove up. I think I was in too much shock to drive through. There was another - a lady spirit this time a short distance away. As soon as she saw the car approaching she started to cross. But thankfully I was in the other lane so she was not close enough to run through.
So far I have not seen any of the spirits go through the cars and I'm not going to attempt to drive through any of them. Please believe me when I say I do not want to. So if you're reading this blog and you are one of them please stop dodging cars and cross at the lights. Remember safety first.

Work In Progress
Every time I get a compliment on this bracelet I simply say that it's work in progress. I'm constantly adding to it. Recently I saw some green pearls in my stash and they seemed to be beckoning me to add them to this bracelet. Yeah in time I will.
I say work in progress because this is one way I practice my wrapped loops. Each time I teach a wire wrapping class I encourage the participants to practice to get better at the technique. I too need to practice so my work in progress continues.

Lost
It was lost and I did not even know it. It was lost and I did not discover that until Saturday - a day later. I wore my bracelet on Friday for the last time and was going to wear it on Saturday but it was not there.
Maybe I lost it in the park I took Joshua to for the first time. I don't know for sure and I'm not going back to look. I lost you but all is not lost.
One of the good things about this is that I'm going to remake it and this time around I'll make a more secure clasp. I started experimenting with making my own findings recently and now as I reflect I was a bit concerned about the clasp. In the re-creation of this favourite bracelet of mine there maybe more changes and the more I think about the more excited I'm becomming. So I lost you but all is not lost.

Springter!!!
I'm really tired of it but it's not my call to change it. So I should not complain. Yeah even when they tell me it's spring and I see snow when I look out my window.
I told my husband that I really don't mind just seeing the snow on a postcard or just on television. This winter seems so long. It's spring you say!! Yeah right! Springter man springter!!!! I know it's only April. So I should not complain. Soon and very soon we'll be enjoying the warm weather but then before we know it will be winter again!!!
